Iraq War
“War is over, if you want it,” declared John Lennon[1] in the thick of the Vietnam nightmare. In March 20th 2003, U.S. president George W. Bush declared U.S troops which contain Land Force, Air Force, Navy and Marine began entering Iraq and fight against Saddam, then Iraq war
started. Several months later, Americans win the war; less than one year after the war starting, Saddam was caught by the U.S. solders and was sentenced to death by the Iraqis court. Four years later since the war began, however, a recent poll of Gallup showed that less than 35 percent America people still hold their confidence on the problem of Iraqis security, and more than 60 percent of people believe the war is worthless, but at the beginning of the war, the result was inverted. At present, more and more senators in Congress which Lennon’s “you” refers to and people of America are trying to end the wrong war proceeding in Iraq, Democrats Senator gave a plan concern about the date for withdraw in Senate. Meanwhile, on NBC’s Meet the Press in May 13th 2007, Senator John McCain told host Tim Russert that the Democrats’ plan of setting a date for withdrawal from Iraq “would lead to ... an enormously challenging situation as a result.” Staying in Iraq, he said, is the best course of action “in our nation’s national security interest.” Withdraw or stay? If God can determine the schedule when the U.S. troops will withdraw from Iraq, now is not too late. Illegality of the war, lying to the world and American people, death of human being, scandals of abuse in the jails, turbulence of current situation in Iraq, difficult life of the Iraqis. All of the elements sentence that the war had been going on for 4 years must be ended; Bush must call his troops back.
